A Place to Workout
Creating an inviting space for working out will help you stay focused
on your fitness goals. Setting up your home fitness equipment in a room
you will want to spend time in is one little technique to keeping your
enthusiasm peaked. If at all possible, designate a room or area that is
exclusively for workouts.
Here are some pointers to consider in creating that space:
-
measure the floor space ( and room height) before you purchase any
large pieces of equipment
-
does the area have adequate lighting?
-
is there good ventilation? - choose a room with windows;
use a fan, or better still, and air conditioner;
-
a bit cooler in temperature is desirable
-
install large and strategically placed mirror(s) so you can monitor your
form
-
include entertainment such as stereo, TV, VCR - all with remotes
-
use rubber flooring under cardio equipment and treadmills - will protect
your flooring from dripping sweat, and to protect treadmill motors
from being clogged by carpet fibers.
-
use a thick rubber "thud rug" under weights
